Nicholas Montgomery is tech blogger and entrepreneur living in Toronto. Nicholas is the “Tech Expert” for Canada’s most popular daytime talkshow, The Marilyn Denis Show (CTV). He also regularly does social media consulting for Ryerson University in the Ted Rogers School of Management and is an intern at Toronto-based tech startup Sprouter.
Nicholas has written for numerous technology blogs including, MacApper, Listified, Appletell and iAppBlog.
Nicholas Montgomery started in the tech world when he was 12 years old by co-hosting a live podcast about web 2.0 and the latest tech startups.
Nicholas worked with Leo Mancini (New York graphic designer) to create “Goodie of the Day”, a unique site where designers could submit their own design related goodies (screensavers, icons, wallpaper) and users could vote on the one featured daily item, at age 13. Goodie of the Day exploded to over 35 000 unique visitors in the second month.
For over 60 episodes (weekly) Nicholas Montgomery produced, hosted and edited Blastr.tv, a video podcast featuring the best of the web.
Nicholas Montgomery has made appearances on CityTV, CP24, Digital Journal, CTV News, TVGuide.ca, CFRB Newstalk 1010 and more.
Outside of the realm of technology, Nicholas started an initative called One Plant, which aims to improve the Education, Environment and Everybody. The project was publicly announced after months of work to the Toronto District School Board trustees and superintendents on October 5th, 2011 and is being evaluated for implementation board wide.
Nicholas regularly runs 5ks, 10ks and half marathons competitively. He has also hosted a 4 week course on Herbal Medicine and another on Bonsai Trees at his school. Nicholas also practises aspects of Zen Buddhist and meditates daily.
